BE&K Building Group is seeking a motivated Data Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer. In this role, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure that enable analytics, reporting, and business insights. This internship is ideal for students interested in data engineering, cloud technologies, and real-world applications of data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage
- Support data integration projects using SQL, Python, and/or ETL tools
- Help optimize data workflows and improve data quality
- Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business partners on data-related projects
- Document processes and contribute to best practices in data management
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working toward a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- Foundational knowledge of SQL and Python
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a collaborative environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to lift and carry office supplies and equipment up to 20 pounds
