Salary Scale: NJC SCP 5 – 6 (currently £25,583 to £25,989 p/a inclusive).

Eastleigh Town Council is seeking to appoint two diligent, proactive and hard-working Trainee Grounds Operatives to be a key part of a new team being set up to look after and maintain the town of Eastleigh to the highest standards possible. Both posts are full time (37 hours / week). These new posts offer a fantastic opportunity to learn, develop and achieve a recognised qualification as all training, support and sponsorship will be provided by the Council itself.
Grounds Maintenance is currently undertaken by the principal authority in Eastleigh, but the council has decided that from April 2026, these functions will be undertaken by the setting up of a directly employed team of staff. Working alongside the more experienced Grounds Operatives, the appointment of these two posts is the next step in ensuring that the Council has a really knowledgeable and trained staffing compliment, as well as offering a rare and exciting career opportunity.
