Content Marketing Intern
Contract: 6-month paid internship. Full-time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Location: 30 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3EE. Hybrid working.
Reports to: Senior Brand Marketing Manager
Salary: £13,650 for the duration of the internship (6 months)

Purpose of the Internship
This internship provides structured, supervised experience within the Marketing team. The intern will gain hands-on exposure to content development, campaign support, and brand storytelling across the Edconic portfolio. The role is developmental, supporting the intern to build core marketing skills while learning from marketing specialists within the Global Enrolment, Marketing and Sales (GEMS) department.
The candidate must be based within commutable distance to London, with flexibility to work remotely.
Key Learning Objectives
This internship is designed to provide practical, hands-on experience in content marketing:
• Develop an understanding of brand storytelling, audience insights, and campaign planning.
• Build skills in drafting marketing content under supervision, including emails, web articles and social media posts.
• Gain exposure to digital tools used in modern marketing (CMS, CRM platforms, analytics, campaign dashboards).
• Observe cross-functional collaboration between Brand, Ops, Creative, and Admissions teams.
• Develop organisational, research, and communication skills.
The intern will receive structured support, including weekly in-person check-ins with their line manager who will also act as a mentor. Training in key tasks, supervision and guidance will be provided throughout the placement, along with a structured 6-month learning plan for professional development.
The Role
The Marketing Intern will support the Senior Brand Marketing Manager and gain hands-on experience through assisting with content development, creative projects and media campaigns with a particular focus on sports, media, technology and entertainment brands in the Edconic portfolio. Currently this includes Manchester City Sports Business School, The School of The New York Times and WIRED Education.
The intern will be part of a team of marketing specialists embedded within and supported by the Global Enrollment, Marketing and Sales (GEMS) department, which operates like an internal agency providing support to all Edconic schools and programs.
The intern will work closely with the Marketing Operations and Creative teams to observe and support how projects raise brand awareness and how programmes are brought to market, including delivering effective and successful marketing campaigns.
The Marketing Intern will assist with drafting and preparing written content under supervision. Key project work will include email marketing, editorial pieces, general website copy, captions for social media and advertising copy (print and digital).
The individual will have an interest in writing for different audiences and be willing to develop their writing skills to communicate effectively with core stakeholders in the sports, media, technology and entertainment industries They will have the chance to gain exposure to how brand voice, analytics and technology are used in professional marketing environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the development of brand narratives and communication strategies for Manchester City Sports Business School, The School of The New York Times and WIRED Education by assisting with tasks across a variety of platforms and media, with guidance.
• Assist in drafting written content to support consumer awareness, interest and engagement, with supervision and editorial feedback.
• Support the Senior Brand Marketing Manager to communicate with Marketing Ops, Creative and agency teams to learn how brand marketing objectives are translated into campaigns.
• Assist with related administrative and coordination tasks across owned, earned and paid media channels such as web, social, digital, email, PR, events, etc.
• Support the Senior Brand Marketing Manager and Global Admissions teams by assisting with communication tasks and observing how recruitment and conversion strategies operate to help deliver enrollment targets.
• Assist with gathering information for brand marketing reports, basis research tasks and preparation of materials for KPI or activity reviews
• Support team members working on other brands in the Edconic portfolio as needed.
• Assist the Senior Brand Marketing Manager with research or early-stage tasks related to new business initiatives, where appropriate.
Person Specification
Essential Experience and Skills
• Comfortable using digital tools (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite), with openness to learning marketing technology, CMS and CRM platforms with training.
• Demonstrated interest in sports, media, technology or entertainment sectors and a curiosity about how brands in those spaces translate to education.
• Enthusiasm for marketing, curiosity for the consumer and passion for the brands.
• Strong written communication skills and willingness to develop writing for different audiences and formats.
• A strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organised and support on multiple tasks with guidance.
• Excellent command of the English language, including oral and written.
Desirable Experience and Skills
• Experience writing blog posts, social media captions, or newsletters (even in a student or volunteer capacity).
• Awareness of content marketing trends in sports, media, technology, or entertainment sectors.
