What you’ll be doing
The role primarily supports the following teams: Chinese Art, Classical Indian Art and Contemporary Indian Art.
What your day might look like
Administrative Support
To support the Department Coordinator and Specialists in logistical and administrative functions relating to the Department
Helping to receipt consignments
Local property coordination for auctions and private sales
Assist in setting up and maintaining exhibitions and boardroom events
Assiting the Department Coordinator to maintain property trackers with all incoming property information
Arrange local collections for property located in the UK
Assist the Department Coordinator by liaising with shipping department to obtain shipping quotes and apply for export licenses to France, Hong Kong or New York, licenses for value and CITES
Assist the Department Coordinator in London to ensure the works are shipped for prompt arrival in their sale sites in Paris, New York, and Hong Kong
Assist the Specialists in the preparation of valuations and catalogues
Research archives for past auction prices
Liaise with the Photography and Image editing teams to ensure property is photographed ahead of deadlines
Competitor’s Sales (UK)
Keeping a record of competitor’s sale dates and checking catalogues received prior to the sale
Marking catalogues with prices realised and tallying the results
Advising the Business Manager of results
Miscellaneous
What you’ll bring to the team
History of Art Graduate (or other relevant degree)
Previous work experience – either paid or voluntary – within the Art Sector
Language skills (fluent in English plus one or two other languages, especially European or Asian languages)
Self-motivated and highly-organised
Ability to demonstrate client facing experience
Strong IT skills with familiarity of all Microsoft packages.
