Apprentice Teaching Assistant
Location: South Northamptonshire
Provision Type: Alternative Provision (New Site)
Qualification: Working towards Level 2 Teaching Assistant
Employment Type: Permanent (Apprenticeship), recruited via Tradewind
We are delighted to be recruiting an Apprentice Teaching Assistant for a growing alternative provision opening a new site in South Northamptonshire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference to young people who require a more personalised and nurturing educational environment.
The provision supports students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education, as well as those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and other additional needs. The school prides itself on being small, supportive, and relationship-led, with class sizes capped at just six students to ensure every learner receives the attention and care they deserve.
Each class is staffed with one Functional Skills Teacher and one Teaching Assistant, creating a calm, structured, and collaborative learning environment. As an Apprentice Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with experienced educators to support students both academically and emotionally, helping them to re-engage with learning and develop essential life skills.
This role is ideal for someone looking to start or develop a career in education. You will work towards a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification while gaining hands-on experience in a specialist setting. The school places a strong emphasis on learning and development, offering excellent training, mentoring, and clear progression routes. All educators are supported onto structured training pathways, with opportunities to progress into higher qualifications and long-term careers within education.
You will be employed on a permanent basis, with the apprenticeship and recruitment managed through Tradewind, ensuring high-quality support throughout your journey.
We are looking for someone who is patient, resilient, eager to learn, and genuinely motivated to support young people who may have faced significant challenges. Previous experience is not essential-attitude, commitment, and a passion for inclusive education are key.
If you are ready to grow alongside a forward-thinking provision and make a meaningful impact every day, we would love to hear from you.
