Job Description

This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the City's information technology equipment and aiding the City’s IT/GIS Division.

Examples of Duties

  • Troubleshoot and identify problems or complaints in a computer system or device.
  • Install or replace computers and peripherals
  • Respond to and complete help-desk tickets and concerns from other departments in a timely manner.
  • Answer support phone calls.
  • Assist system administrators and analysts with tasks as needed.
  • Assist in other various duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.

  • Knowledge of computer software and hardware installation and maintenance principles.
  • Knowledge of domain security and principles.
  • Knowledge of the installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of peripheral devices.
