Smith+Nephew seeks a Product Management Intern in the Robotics and Enabling Technology business to join the Global Robotics Product Management team. This role will focus on enhancing the efficiency and deployment of surgical robotics products.
This opportunity allows an enthusiastic individual to contribute to the optimization of surgical robotics platforms by developing business cases, mapping end-to-end processes, and creating operational proposals. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, technical expertise, and a collaborative mindset. The position will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
What will you be doing?
- Building business cases to support projects focused on the efficient deployment of surgical robotics products and software.
- Mapping end-to-end processes necessary for successful implementation and scaling.
- Creating proposals and process outlines for the operationalization of efforts with cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
- Partnering with R&D teams to develop streamlined installation procedures for robotics systems.
- Analyzing system workflows and identifying opportunities for process improvement.
- Collaborating with engineering, operations, and commercial teams to drive innovation and efficiency in surgical robotics deployment.

What will you need to be successful?
- Education: o Enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Previous applicable internship, co-op, part-time, or apprenticeship experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience in process mapping and optimization.
- Familiarity with surgical robotics, medical devices, or healthcare technologies is a plus.
- Ability to interpret data and develop business cases for project justification.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
