The opportunity
As a Finance Apprentice, you will be at the heart of our finance operations, supporting the team with essential accountancy tasks and gaining invaluable exposure to the world of financial management. This is a unique opportunity to develop a wide range of financial skills and gain experience in various aspects of accounting, from invoice processing to budget preparation.
Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer, you will be mentored and guided through your apprenticeship, learning from a seasoned finance leader while actively contributing to the company's financial operations.
This role is perfect for someone eager to learn, with a passion for finance and a desire to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Invoice processing and payments: Process supplier invoices, ensure timely payments, and assist in reconciling supplier statements.
- Customer invoicing: Prepare and issue customer invoices, track payments, and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Financial reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and analyses for management.
- Cost monitoring: Support the finance team in tracking manufacturing costs, including materials and labour.
- Budget preparation: Help with budget preparation and variance analysis.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate financial records using accounting software and databases.
- Payroll support: Assist with payroll processing and respond to related queries.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal policies.
- Audit preparation: Assist with internal and external audits.
- Interdepartmental liaison: Work closely with suppliers, customers, and other departments regarding financial matters.
- General administrative support: Provide administrative support to the finance department as required.
What you will need:
- A passion for finance and learning: Enthusiasm to start your career and pursue a professional qualification in finance.
- Proficient in IT: Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.
- Strong organisational skills: Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail: A keen eye for accuracy and detail in all tasks.
- Team player: Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- A full driving licence: Willingness to travel between sites to support the teams as needed.

Pay: £22,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
