Do You Meet The Criteria To Train For QTS (Qualified Teacher Status?)
Applications are warmly welcomed from those who meet the following criteria:
- Graduates who have the right to work in the UK indefinitely (no overseas student visas).
- Graduates who are eligible for bursary funding for Geography(£26,000.00) - UK CITIZENS ONLY
- Graduates who have Maths and English at GCSE (High School) level 4 (C) or better.
- Graduates who have A Levels at grade B,C,C (Grade B in a Geography discipline)
- Have, an Honours Degree in a Geography related discipline (at least 50%), by summer 2025.
- EG: Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Geography, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Geography, Bachelor of Environmental Science or similar
- Graduates who live near, or can relocate to Swindon, Wiltshire, by September 2025.
- Graduates who have some experience of teaching already, or supporting learning in an educational setting (not essential).
We welcome you to enrol on the renowned ITT (Initial Teacher Training) course which will qualify you with the PGCE & QTS.
What is the PGCE?
The PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education) is a comprehensive post graduate educational qualification, designed for those aspiring to become professional teachers in the UK.
It combines theoretical study with practical training, paving the way for a successful career in teaching and providing a foundation for further academic pursuits in education. The course will provide you with 0.6 of a Masters Degree.
What is QTS?
Qualified Teacher Status is the leading qualification for any person who wishes to teach in UK primary or secondary settings. It is also highly regarded in other parts of the world (China, Singapore, UAE, Australia, Canada, New Zealand).
Securing QTS provides you with access to educational leadership opportunities within the UK and in many international school systems, with excellent salary packages.

What does the teacher training involve?
- Careful and well planned induction to your school
- One week summer school to prepare you for the start of your teaching career
- Bespoke weekly teacher training sessions throughout the course to develop your subject knowledge

- Training on key aspects of successful teaching such as Pedagogy, Behaviour Management, Lesson Planning and how to Assess Learning

Financial Details - UK CITIZENS ONLY
- Bursary: Tax-free £26,000.00
- You must have the Right To Work in the UK until 08/2025
- Once you are qualified and have gained an Early Career Teacher position, your salary will start from £31,650.00.
