Hours: 8:00 till 16:00 Monday - Thursday, 8:00 till 15:30 Friday
WDS are currently recruiting for two apprentices to join our team of engineers with the opportunity to learn hands on whilst attending college one day a week. The successful candidates will learn to set, operate and adjust CNC and manual machines used in Milling, Turning, Grinding, Honing, Assembly, De-burring, Blacking, Painting, Shot Blasting and Inspection.
- Reading Technical Drawings
- Quality Inspection & Recording of Non-Conformances
- A variety of Standard Operating Procedures
- The Principals of Lean Manufacturing
- Process Development
- Engineering Tooling and their applications
- Cutting Fluids and Lubricators
- A multitude of Machine Controllers (CNC & NC)
- Workholding Equipment
- Manual and Assisted Handling Techniques
- Health & Safety
- Environmental Factors
- A good solid academic record of achievement
- A basic understanding of and desire to learn all aspects of Mechanical Engineering
- A Can Do attitude with demonstrable enthusiasm
- Effective Communication and Interpersonal Skills
- Punctual and Excellent Timekeeping
This role located onsite and is based in Pudsey. Leeds West Yorkshire.
