Resonance is an impact property fund manager that is transforming the relationship between private investment and social good. To help us continue this journey, we are looking for an IT Intern to join our growing, friendly team.
Our IT team is based at HQ in Launceston, Cornwall and we will need the successful applicant to work with the team at this location 2 days per week.
HERE’S WHY WE NEED YOU – PURPOSE
This is an important role; the person we want to join our established IT team will play a key part in helping colleagues across the business make the most of the systems that we work with. You will assist in various IT projects and tasks, including hardware and software support, troubleshooting, supporting colleagues with new software and hardware installation and system administration. Additionally, you will be involved in monitoring the company’s systems and networks for potential security breaches, responding to any incidents that occur and helping to identify potential solutions.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to work and focus independently and as part of a team. If you are currently pursuing or have gained a qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, this could be the role for you.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO FOR US – RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide technical support to colleagues by resolving hardware and software issues in response to IT queries
- Install and configure software and hardware systems
- Assist with maintaining and upgrading computer systems and networks
- Perform system backups and data recovery operations
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives
- Monitor and maintain the performance of computer systems and networks
- Input into the development of IT policies and procedures
- Keep up to date with emerging trends and technologies in the IT field and help communicate how these can provide solutions for Resonance, for example use of AI technology
- Monitoring systems and networks for security breaches
- Testing new potential software and identifying how it integrates with other Resonance core systems
WHAT WE WANT YOU TO BRING TO US – SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Pursuing or gained a qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networking concepts
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented and organised
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, MacOS, iOS and other common software applications
