Electrical Engineering Assessor
1 - 3 days a week part time
Working as part of a small team your role is to develop engineering apprentices with the skills, knowledge and attitude that they require to be successful in their supporting companies.
Job Responsibilities
To meet with apprentices' in a timely fashion to review their NVQ folders both at level 2 and level 3.
You will be responsible for the assessment of EAL Level 2 and 3 Performing Engineering Operations electrical units.
You will be required to hold regular review meetings with apprentices (currently every 6-weeks) and undertake assessments of their work. These activities will be carried out at both the NDGTA Training Centre and at host companies.
Terms and Working Conditions
NDGTA’s times of work are 7.30 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Monday to Thursday. 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. on Friday. There will be ½-hour unpaid lunch break each day. However, these times may be modified in order to accommodate the work needed to cover the programme requirements.
NDGTA’s holiday entitlement is 47-days per year inclusive of Bank Holidays. This entitlement runs from the 1st January to 31st December.
A contribution of 9% of your annual salary will be made to a scheme of your choice after your probationary period provided that the scheme can be demonstrated to serve the purpose of a pension.
Relevant experience in the following field will be desirable:
Applicant to have completed a Level 3 engineering apprenticeship programme
Advantageous to have an EAL level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement or equivalent
Having previously taught or worked with apprentices / students would be an advantage.
Experience in working in the electrical / engineering industry.
