This is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join an innovative and friendly department. Once qualified as a Therapeutic Radiographer you will be part of a multidisciplinary team treating patients with cancer using radiation.
You will work within the radiotherapy department, Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust as a trainee Therapeutic Radiographer under the Therapeutic Apprenticeship programme in association with the University of West of England.
Applicants must be able to evidence Maths and English GCSE grade C/4 or above and 112 UCAS points ([please see personal specification for further information)
The apprenticeship is delivered over 36 months encompassing theory and practical experience working towards a bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Radiography. This course will commence in March 2025 and we are aiming to recruit into the post in February 2025.
This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week, it will be workplace based for four days (30 hours) and one day a week (7.5 hours) will be protected study time to be undertaken in the department. A large proportion of time will be spent with a training provider studying towards the Level 6 Therapeutic Radiography Apprenticeship. Therapeutic radiographer / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
Attend the mandatory academic training for the Therapeutic Radiographer Apprenticeship programme and make a commitment to study both within working hours and at home for the duration of the course.
You will work as part of the team to ensure safe and accurate delivery of radiotherapy to patients, treating a variety of sites under the supervision of a state registered radiographer at all times.
Throughout your training you will develop and maintain knowledge, skills and competencies related to the role within the service.
As part of the team you will be providing care and support to patients undergoing radiotherapy.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship you will gain a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography and will be eligible to apply for registration with the Health Care Professions Council.
